Thank you for the awesome ride, Twingly!

More than 4 magnificent years I enjoyed together with the awesome crew at Twingly! My first “work-day” started on 12th of May 2008 at Gelleråsen with a round of Go-kart, and here is the evidence picture (taken by Martin Källström):

Little more than 4 years later, on 31th of May 2012, my last day at Twingly also involved – Go-kart. This time a bit closer to home, though, at Sviesta.

I mean, honest, how many of you can say that their work at a company started and ended with just Go-kart?

Working with Twingly opened the world of digital and social media for me. I started blogging, tweeting, facebooking, foursquaring, pinteresting, deliciousing and got to know loads of other social platforms. I got into using these tools as part of a social media and/ or online-marketing-strategy. I experienced which great results our customers achieved in their online-strategy using Twingly products like eTrade, Blogstream and Blogwatch. Not to speak of all the social media monitoring companies using Twingly’s data-API. Today I (finally!) started using Instagram btw :) .

In other words, I learnt an awful lot about digital social and became a part of it, both here in Sweden as well as in Germany. Thank you, Martin Källström for giving it a try with the back then newly arrived German girl from London who at that time was far from fluent in Swedish ;) !

My latest project Medienbewachen.de which I started in June 2011, involved getting into the world of social media monitoring – a hugely important topic, since today one really should know what’s been said on the interweb and social sharing platforms about oneself, one’s company/ organisation or brand. A topic I therefore will naturally continue to follow very closely. A fast developing area it is as well. New monitoring services enter the market every month, some of them being genuine and offering great value, while others are more after the quick cash and probably bugger off again later. Anna and Steffi now manage Medienbewachen, together with Twingly.

However, I left Twingly, you’ll be asking yourself since quite some time now… Why?

As some of you surely know, there is a special place in my heart for the motorcycle world. When I in February spotted the opportunity of working with the Swedish Association for Motorcycle- and Snowscooter Sports, SVEMO, I couldn’t resist putting myself forward for the position of Coordinator for Road Racing, Minimoto and Dragracing. The rest is history.

A bonus that needs mentioning is that SVEMO is situated less than a kilometre away from where I live… . For the first time in my life I can walk to work! A luxury after having commuted to work since almost 10 years, duration at least one hour per way. First on London’s cattle-waggons (how I call the local transport during rush hour) and then on Östgötapendeln. The latter was luxury-commuting, though. Always a seat, hardly ever a neighbour it was uncomfortable sitting next to.

What’s next? Well, Twingly is looking for an enthusiastic person with great sales skills and an interest in blogs and social media. You will be joining one of the very best teams you can wish for! Your ideas and spirit are wanted at growing Twingly – and you will grow with them. That much I can promise. As another bonus you maybe could see that you’ll be working with Peter, who is heading up the Twingly-team. Peter is not only a knowledgeable and great person to work with (like the rest of the team!!), but also a Gladiator and Rugby Player in Swedens National Team.

And what about me? Well, I started getting my little head into the world of Swedish and International motorcycle sports. I have to learn a lot about Road Racing, Minimoto and Drag Racing, get to know all the lovely new colleagues around me, who helped me hugely during my first two days at SVEMO. Then I will also meet the people out in the field, who are working hands on with “my” sections and all the races and who I am supposed to help in their work. I also look forward to meeting some of “my” racing riders, so that I don’t only fix their licenses but can put a face to a name. I will start doing that at the Sweden International Dragracing EM in Tierp.

We read, chat and whatnot each other as usual, I reckon! And luckily, Linköping isn’t that far away, so there will be the occasional Afterwork as well ;) .

I like coffee and I love blogging

A great initiative from Flattr, the Pay A Blogger Day on 29th of November! (Tomorrow!)

This is what blogging would have earned me until now:

Not really anything, but this isn’t why I blog. I just think it is fun to keep an online-diary, and that it is an easy way to share thoughts as well as cool stuff that one encounters, either online or in real life.

Also, when you look at the range of web content, I think that it is important to find as many views on a subject as possible. No matter whether a journalist has written his take on things, or bloggers theirs. Only with lots of different opinions, uncensored by anyone, we will be able to get the full picture of a story. By the way, an insight about how journalists function, you can read here. Might be useful to know next time you want to pitch a story.

Anyway, even if blogging hasn’t earned me even as much as a cup of coffee yet, I will continue. You are very welcome to take a cup of coffee with me some time! And no worries, I can pay for myself or maybe even invite you ;)

P.S.: I am particularly proud of my company Twingly who supports the “Pay a blogger Day”! Read their interview with Andrus Purde from Flattr!

Retro Location Based Services & Twitter Search

You did know that the entire discussion about location-based services in real-time is an old hat, didn’t you? And that Twitter really wasn’t that innovative with their idea about public short messages, you knew as well, didn’t you?

Not sure if Martin at Twingly got inspired by that a little bit when creating the fastest retro real-time Twitter-search ever. After all one has to keep all the old tweets available, doesn’t one?

And it really does work, check it out:

#Twingly5 – the most awesome event of Summer 2011!

Yesterday we celebrated the 5th birthday of Twingly!

Over 100 friends taking part in this – amazing!

Impressions you find on Facebook (my pics) and then the master of live video Björn Falkevik taped the best moments on Bambuser! Search for #Twingly5 and get ready to improve your Swedish!

Although it knocked me out again (I already had to stay home with the same cold this week) – it was a truly epic night, and I’d like to thank everyone, colleagues, friends and all our guests for making it what it was!

Despite the all of a sudden quite cold weather in the evening. Anecdote there: When registering all our guests got the anniversary T – and quite a few of them asked “Do we need to put it on now??” Nope, of course not. However, since temperatures dropped during the evening, I saw quite a few of you having put it on, as an extra layer. All blankets were also occupied. That’s how it is sometimes. Cos during lunch I thought like “Blankets…. bit over the top almost, but never mind…”, plus I got a slight sunburn as well….

Anyway, THANK YOU! :)

P.S.: Adding the link to the Twingly-post which contains more pics from Anders Sporring and Anton!

Monitoring the digital echo of #rp11

re:publica – the conference for blogs, social media and the digital society with about 3000 participants is over.

Over? Not really when you look at Twitter, Facebook and all blog articles posted. It seems now it only has begun!

On Twingly, there are by now almost 80 blog posts writing about re:publica . (English and German language results, in case yours doesn’t appear, please ping it to Twingly!)

Also, on Liveboard you can see the tweets still rolling – moderate speed, but still very decent. And by now we counted almost 10.000 unique users with almost 48.000 tweets!Wednesday and Thursday (13th and 14th) were definitely the strongest days, with most tweets between 8am and 11am, and then in the afternoons from like 12pm to 2.30pm.

When checking out Liveboardplease use CHROME, SAFARI or iPAD! We are currently working on a version compatible with FF4, but that still takes a little while.

The official re:publica stats containing everything in one place, plus a little bit more in-depth analysis was provided by buzzrank. buzzrank is a service of SocialObjects, a German start-up  for social media monitoring, founded in autumn 2009 by Oliver Wagner and Oliver Köster.

Very pretty and informative – these are the stats for the strongest day in terms of tweets and feedback for re:publica on the social web:

More buzzrank-stats for re:publica you can find here: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3

Viva las real time conversations :) !

Are there more Analytics around for re:publica? If so, please share them as a comment here. Thank you!

Update 21st of April: Here you can find the majority of blog posts about re:publica!

Keeping track of re:publica-tweets #rp11

As you might have read in my last post I already thought a bit about which sessions to visit and who I would like to meet at re:publica.

Like always during the last days before re:publica starts, my Twitter timeline is crowded with #rp11-tweets – there are a lot of tips flying around as well as people fixing times for a coffee-chat.

My company last year developed a visual tool for conferences called “Liveboard” where one can see the latest tweet about a certain hash-tag, other hash-tags used in conjunction with that one, the top users by number of mentions and updates. Apart from that one can also see during which time of the day there was “tweet-high-time”,  and on which days most tweets were sent.

Today we set up a Liveboard for all tweets that contain #rp11, which is the official hash-tag for everything happening around re:publica.

Open this link in Safari, Chrome or on your iPad: http://liveboard.twingly.com/republica. Right now I have it open in Chrome on a second screen and watch the numbers just rolling in. Will be really cool to see what this looks like during and after the conference!

Please note that Liveboard is HTML5 based and works in Safari, Chrome or on your iPad!
